2018 HRD Clinic

SARDUS is offering a HRD clinic April 27-29 2018 in Longmont, Colorado. This will be a small training with the world renowned HRD specialist John Beck. The course will focus on criminal investigations, understanding how crime scenes are managed as well as general HRD scenarios. We will offer our Crime Scene Preservation Course the evening of April 27. April 28th and 29th will be spent in the field. Testing is available during the course. Course open to all levels of dogs.

Cost $100 per team- course/training included.

clinic is limited to 10 people.
course will be within driving distance of Longmont, plenty of dog friendly lodgin near-by!
must pay in full at time of registration.
full refunds available until 1 month prior to start of clinic (March 27, 2018).
if you would like to take a certification test they will be offered to teams upon request AND with approval of instructors (i.e. teams that are not ready to test will not be tested due to the huge time commitment to setting up tests). $50 each test

We will offer 2 HRD tests, the Operational Type III/IV HRD test and for those that are already certified in HRD or Area Search, Large Area/Source HRD test.

IMPORTANT:
SARDUS will pre-screen teams to make sure they understand the standards and are ready to take the certification tests. We may ask for supporting information like previous certifications, training records or letters of recommendation. This is an attempt to reduce the amount of tests taken by teams not ready to test. Teams will also be screened during the first day of testing period.

Testing will be held throughout the day as available for SARDUS TypeIII/IV HRD.

John Beck has used his Cadaver Detection Dogs on numerous searches for local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. In addition to training his own dogs, John serves as a trainer and judge for Midwest Canine Alternatives and serves as an evaluator and instructor for SARDUS and other organizations. He has studied Crime Scene Investigation at the University of Nebraska. John was the Nebraska Coalition for Victims of Crime's Volunteer of the Year in 2004 and received the Lincoln Police Department's Certificate of Merit in 2008. When John is not working with dogs, he earns his living as a filmmaker.

New Evaluators

These clinics give SARDUS the opportunity to work with new evaluators. We are intentionally moving very slow with the expansion of our evaluator pool so we can maintain the quality and consistency that we expect with our certifications. Evaluators in-training work with our experienced evaluators setting up and observing how each test is evaluated. This is a very work intensive process but our results are tests that are set up and evaluated the same across the country.
