Canine Team Certification Opportunities

Search and Rescue Dogs of the United States (SARDUS), National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR) and  North American Search Dog Network (NASDN) are offering national search and rescue dog certification opportunities during the same time as the national SAR conference that is occuring in Estes Park.  This is a unique opportunity for dog teams across the US to have access a choice of national certification organizations. Testing opportunities are an additional charge that is customary for each group.  Please choose the links below for more information about registration.

Canine Training

 

We will be offering intensive, discipline specific canine training June 1-6 in Estes Park.  This training is free of charge and will cover topics such as Urban Search, Trailing, Area Search, Human Remains Detection and we are hoping to offer some speciality training such as directability.  For a tentative schedule and registration please follow this link:

Monday, June 1
 
0900- All day Explore the possbilities of urban canine search.  Area search dogs utilized on-leash in urban areas...  Urban trailing ... HRD canine search ... team approach to utilizing all diciplines in urban setting.
 
NO CERTIFICATION OPPORTUNITES
 
 
 

Tuesday, June 2
 
0900 - 1500 Area search training.  Training specific to your teams needs, working on alert, multiple victims, scent dynamics and securing a readable refind. Will be working on public property surrounding Estes Park. 
 
0900- 1500 Trailing training in wilderness and urban settings.  Open to all levels and abilites.  Practice starts, trailing accross different terrain types, aged trails and the use of multiple trailing teams to acheive one objective. 
 
0900- 1500 Human Remains Detection training.  All levels from beginning to advanced.  Train in different area types such as wilderness, water, disaster and urban settings.  Opportunity to exchange scent sources!
 
1500 hours to 2300 hours- certification opportunities area search (day and night testing) and trailing.

Wednesday, June 3
