2017 Western Region Clinic

SARDUS is teaming up with Garfield County Search and Rescue !! We are offering an immersion style handler training near Glenwood Springs Colorado, June 8-13, 2017. All participants will spend 5 days living on-site at the Sunlight Ski Resort, developing handler/canine skills in wilderness airscent search, trailing and human remains detection. SARDUS national certification opportunities will be offered to advanced teams. Instructors from across the United States will be on-hand to provide individual instruction. Due to limited space we anticipate that this clinic will fill up soon, please register now! If you need a break from training, this glorious place is full of activities such as rafting, hiking, horseback riding and spending time at the numerous natural springs and vapor caves, Glenwood Springs is only 15 minutes away!

Cost $700 per team- includes 5 nights accommodation, 5 breakfasts, 4 lunches, 3 dinners and clinic fee.

if you would like to take a certification test they will be offered to teams upon request AND with approval of instructors (i.e. teams that are not ready to test will not be tested due to the huge time commitment to setting up tests). $50 additional each test
With our new standards you are able to start the testing process with one SARDUS evaluator prior to the clinic.

IMPORTANT:
SARDUS will pre-screen teams to make sure they understand the standards and are ready to take the certification tests. We may ask for supporting information like previous certifications, training records or letters of recommendation. This is an attempt to reduce the amount of tests taken by teams not ready to test. Teams will also be screened during the first day of testing period.

New Evaluators

These clinics give SARDUS the opportunity to work with new evaluators. We are intentionally moving very slow with the expansion of our evaluator pool so we can maintain the quality and consistency that we expect with our certifications. Evaluators in-training work with our experienced evaluators setting up and observing how each test is evaluated. This is a very work intensive process but our results are tests that are set up and evaluated the same across the country.
