Type II Disaster Test (FSA)

Many law enforcement and rescue agencies have need for qualified dog teams to respond during the first operational period during a disaster rescue. SARDUS is offering a Type II Disaster Test for first responder dog teams, SARDUS as adopted the Type II FEMA (FSA) test, and will be set-up and evaluated by FEMA evaluators. The test, followed by a training day will be hosted at Crisis City (Salina KS) on Saturday, December 15- 17, 2018. Setup will be Friday the 14th, and there is the possibility of a re-test for Sunday, Dec 16. Monday December 17th will be dedicated to training. We will offer both Live and HRD testing all of the elements of obedience, agility, and directability will be the same as FEMA requirements. This evaluation will be limited to 10 teams (prefer 8). Evaluators are Teresa MacPherson and Julie Padelford. Ann Wichmann will also be available on the training day to instruct.

Cost for certification test on December 15th $50 per team.

Testing is limited to 8-10 teams.

Cost for training on December 17 $75 per team.

Training is limited to 15 teams

IMPORTANT:
SARDUS will pre-screen teams to make sure they understand the standards and are ready to take the certification tests. We may ask for supporting information like previous certifications, training records or letters of recommendation. This is an attempt to reduce the amount of tests taken by teams not ready to test. Teams will also be screened during the first day of testing period.

New Evaluators

These clinics give SARDUS the opportunity to work with new evaluators. We are intentionally moving very slow with the expansion of our evaluator pool so we can maintain the quality and consistency that we expect with our certifications. Evaluators in-training work with our experienced evaluators setting up and observing how each test is evaluated. This is a very work intensive process but our results are tests that are set up and evaluated the same across the country.
